Interstate 87 (I-87)

I-87 runs approximately 306 miles from New York City north through Albany, Saratoga Springs, and Plattsburgh to the Canadian border at Champlain, where it becomes Quebec Autoroute 15 continuing to Montreal. It is the primary truck corridor connecting the New York metropolitan freight market to Montreal and Eastern Canada. The Adirondack foothills segment between Albany and Plattsburgh sees significant lake-effect snow off Lake Champlain, and the border crossing at Champlain can experience lengthy delays during peak periods.
