New Brunswick Highway 1
St. Stephen, NB to Aulac, NB
New Brunswick Highway 1 runs approximately 175 km from the US border at St. Stephen (across from Calais, Maine) through Saint John and Sussex to Aulac. It serves Saint John, home to one of Canada's major deepwater ports, and provides an alternate US border crossing via the Calais-Saint Stephen international bridge. The Saint John River valley produces coastal fog conditions, and moose collisions are a significant hazard on rural sections outside the city.
