Amherst, NS to Port Hastings, NS
Nova Scotia Highway 104 is the Trans-Canada Highway through mainland Nova Scotia, running approximately 280 km from the New Brunswick border at Amherst through Truro and Antigonish to the Canso Causeway at Port Hastings. It is the sole land entry and exit point for all truck freight moving into or out of Nova Scotia. Remote sections in Pictou and Antigonish counties have variable winter maintenance, moose are present throughout, and Atlantic weather systems can produce rapid ice accumulation.
