St. John's — Trucking Hub

St. John's is the terminus of the Trans-Canada Highway through Newfoundland and the economic center of the province. All truck freight arrives via the Marine Atlantic ferry at Port aux Basques, followed by an approximately 900 km overland haul across the island — a fixed operating reality for any carrier running Newfoundland loads. The Port of St. John's handles offshore oil support, general cargo, and supplies for the Avalon Peninsula.
